Job Description:

WestJet is currently seeking an Advisor, for People Delivery to support our various client groups across our organization. The Advisor, will play an integral role in investigating violence & harassment complaints as well as other high-risk complaints. The Advisor is also responsible for front line leadership coaching, providing advice and guidance related to the best practices across all functions in Human Resources and assisting front line leaders to maximize the effectiveness of WestJet’s most valued asset, our people.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working directly with leaders on medium risk investigations;
  • Conducting high risk investigations, dispute resolution and mediation;
  • Elevating leadership self-serve options by bringing forward trends and areas of opportunity for online resources to be developed;
  • Provide a strong knowledge of company policies and procedures;
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders (legal, corporate security, people relations, labour relations and business leaders).
  • Ensuring consistent practices are being followed particularly with performance management, terminations, investigations, and various employment relations activities;
  • Providing advice and guidance related to the best practices across all functions in Human Resources;

Job Requirements:

  • Specialized training in conducting high risk Investigations an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.);
  • Knowledge of Human Resources legislation;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with all levels within the organization;
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral;
  • Degree in Labour Relations, Human Resources, Law, or related field an asset;
  • Good judgement, tact, discretion, and exceptional listening skills;
  • A strong consulting orientation and client focus with the ability to build strong, positive relationships with client groups;
  • CHRP/CPHR designation an asset;

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience in conducting investigations and report writing;
  • Experience working within a unionized environment;
  • Experience in dispute resolution and mediation an asset;
  • Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources, or related field;
