Job Description:

The role defines TowerCo’s Infrastructure and IT strategies and is responsible for developing and delivering the related plans and activities through coordination of the function. The role manages a team of Technology managers and professionals.

Job Responsibilities:

• End-to-end accountability for site security.
• Drive the standardization and optimization of Tower infrastructure and deployment processes.
• Implementation of new technologies as well as efficiency initiatives, including lifecycle management, energy management, execution and design guidelines and standards.
• Define TowerCo’s strategy and guidelines for infrastructure engineering and deployment, and coordinate deployment nationally.
• Ensure effective asset management through the development of asset class strategies and diversification.
• Define and deliver the energy strategy for TowerCo in line with Vodacom’s strategic Planet ambitions and targets.
• Plan, build and run all TowerCo infrastructure.
• Fully accountable for preventative and corrective operations and maintenance of all passive infrastructure.

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience in infrastructure engineering, deployment, and maintenance.
• Proven experience in negotiation and management of outsourced operations is essential.
• In-depth knowledge of telecommunications networks and infrastructure.
• Ability to establish, build and lead a growing team in a dynamic, high-growth, high-uncertainty environment with a strong focus on growth and execution through the wider organization.
• Broad knowledge of IT, including IT Portfolio Management, Architecture, and Cyber Security.

Qualification & Experience:

• Management/supervisory experience.
• A relevant 3-year Technology degree/diploma (e.g. Electrical Engineering) is essential.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in network infrastructure operations, preferably in the Telco, TowerCo, or Infrastructure Industry is essential (including experience in infrastructure engineering, deployment, and maintenance).
• Matric.
