We are expanding our services to the aviation sector and are looking for an expert in aviation transactions to join our growing team. This role could be based at any of our UK offices, at a joint venture partners office in Dublin, including home.

There is significant scope for the role to grow as our aviation offering develops. This role provides an opportunity to be involved in a startup environment but with the support and resources of the larger parent organization.

The role will centre around working with our modelling, analyst, data and development teams to ensure our automated systems produce accurate daily updated valuations for each aircraft in the global fleet and key supporting information.

This will require detailed knowledge of what affects the current and future values of aircraft. This will involve advising the company on the effects on value of aircraft of physical specifications, the economic and market environment, production trends and more.

A critical part of this is historical on ongoing knowledge or aircraft transactions (second hand, orders, leases, distress and negotiations). This will require the candidate to have deep industry contacts related to aviation transactions and the ability to find the background and details of the deals. These contacts will ideally be from aviation leasing, financing, purchasing, consultancy, appraisal or broking, and it is expected that the candidate will have experience working in one or more of these areas.

Knowledge of valuation modelling is not required for this role as this is performed by our modeling team in line with our proprietary methodologies.


Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Advising data teams on sources of transaction information
  • Sourcing transaction and negotiation information
  • Investigating the details behind transactions and feeding back to modelling and analyst teams
  • Advising modelling teams on what affects values of aircraft
  • Monitoring and advising on changes in the aviation markets and their effect on values (before or as they happen) to both internal stakeholders and external customers
  • Producing written content for clients and press

Qualifications and skills:

  • Demonstrated experience (ideally 5+ years) gained in an aviation specific environment, of at least one of the following:
  • leasing or finance;
  • remarketing and trading;
  • investigative journalism;
  • appraisals and consultancy;
  • accounting; or
  • engineering or maintenance
  • Strong knowledge of transactions, aviation markets, earnings, aircraft model types, engines and market value
  • Excellent track record of strong relationships within the aircraft lessor, broker, lender, owner, operator, appraiser, consultant, journalism or investor community, with current active contact
  • Excellent communicator who can develop strong relationships with clients and colleagues globally
  • Industry qualification or candidacy (such as ISTAT or ASA) in aircraft appraising preferred
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) required; additional language(s) preferred
  • Ability to think creatively and with flexibility
