About The Challenge

We are developing our very own Academy which focuses on delivering long-term, immersive bootcamp programmes for learners. Our mission is to provide learners from marginalised backgrounds and under-represented communities with digital skills to help them secure employment and assist employers meeting the needs of The Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Our bootcamps last between 8 and 12 weeks, and focus on topics including digital marketing, data analysis, cyber security and cloud engineering.

We recruit and train all learners, and then work with employer partners to place these learners into their organisations. The Business Development Manager we hire will focus on building these employer partnerships and working with our client partners to place candidates into their organisations.

What does success look like?

  • 3+ years of work experience in sales and business development, either internal or agency settings
  • Experience in business development is critical, as is the desire to work on innovation projects and be a self-starter
  • Experience securing cold leads, pitching to clients and closing large deals
  • Experience meeting targets and driving a high volume of sales
  • Excellent communication skills, demonstrable proficiency in oral, writing and presentation abilities in a business-focused environment
  • Successful track record working in a close team environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise activities effectively while ensuring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to translate business requirements into strategic talent acquisition actions with positive, measurable business impact
  • A true self-starter who brings a willingness to be hands-on throughout daily activities
  • A flexible approach and ability to operate in a fast-moving and demanding environment
  • Working knowledge of applicant tracking systems to manage candidates and LinkedIn Recruiter for sourcing
  • Full proficiency in English (additional languages would also be extremely beneficial)

What are some of the things I will be doing?

  • Define and build sales personas and target groups (e.g HR Managers, L&D Managers, Training Managers, HRBPs, CLO)
  • Helping to shape the overall sales strategy for the Academy
  • Identify and qualify new prospects through multi-channel outbound sales activities, including phone calls, Linkedin, email and other social mediums
  • Respond, engage and qualify inbound leads and inquiries generated by our Marketing team, build a pipeline within inbound opportunities and by prospecting.
  • Identify strategic customer opportunities and create value driven plans to develop new business
  • Owning the sales cycles from start to finish (from prospecting to closing)
  • Schedule scoping meetings, and pitches for all prospective clients
  • Develop winning proposals that present outcome-driven learning journeys that successfully position UpSkill Digtial’s capabilities, exceed customer expectations and align with their short and long term goals with clear impact
  • Build and execute a nurture & ‘win-back’ strategy for closed leads by educating and developing prospects
  • To take prospects on an immersive sales journey; working with their Learning and Development and Finance teams to agree a deal personal to their training and skills need
  • Reporting on your pipeline and successes, ensuring you adopt a data-driven mindset
  • To ensure CRM systems are fully utilised and kept up-to-date at all times
  • To represent UpSkill Digital at a range of events and networking opportunities
