Detailed job description and main responsibilities Your Responsibilities What you’ll do
You will be assisting nurse specialists and gynaecology clinicians in clinic rooms. This will entail preparing equipment for procedures and assisting with the collection of samples, for example, tissue biopsy, urine or blood. There is also day to day tasks to help with the overall running of the department. For example, checking of stock, departmental cleaning and preparing paperwork for the clinics ahead.
An important part of this role is supporting patients through their journey within the department. Ensuring patient dignity and being supportive throughout their appointment and procedures. This can be challenging at times as we have women who will get a cancer diagnosis or have a pregnancy loss and therefore need extra care and support.
What we’re looking for
- Someone who has previous experience of working in a busy clinic environment as an HCA is essential. If you have experience in Gynaecology procedures this would be desirable.
- We would like someone who is flexible with shift patterns within our clinic templates.
- Someone who likes to work in an often fast paced environment but is happy to take there initiative when clinics are quiet.
