Head of Sales – Cellular Agriculture & Bioengineering (m/f/d)

As Head of our Sales team, you will be responsible for building a strong sales pipeline and respective reporting across the entire TCB product portfolio, comprising cell lines, growth media, recombinant proteins, bioreactors and photobioreactors. The sales pipeline needs to be built for multiple industries ranging from pharma, biotechnology and alternative protein production to food and beverage as well as cosmetics. With a strong focus on customer experience and satisfaction, financial product performance you will contribute to TCB’s ambitious growth plan. A strict outcome-orientation will be key to scale sales international. An in-depth understanding of target industry value chains and hence routes to markets will be key to reach TCB sales targets. Having strong analytical skills, team orientation and a proven knowledge in biotechnology and bioengineering you will drive TCB’s Sales Team(s).

In alignment with TCB growth strategy you will translate TCB’s global commercial model into revenue. Over time you will be responsible to roll-out the product sales portfolio internationally and build a dedicated sales organisation across the globe. In close collaboration with the Managing Directors, you will translate TCB’s overall strategy into financial success.

Your Responsibilities

  • Build and implement strong lead pipeline for continuous lead-to-customer conversion
  • Manage and maintain international customer portfolio (churn prevention)
  • Identify customer requirements and needs and translate them into requirements for our Science Team
  • Build and operationalize sales target operating model (s-TOM) incl. sales governance, organisation, processes and IT and data infrastructure
  • Manage and supervise KAM and sales reps (local, regional, global)
  • Budgeting and forecasting for sales cost centre(s), incl. marketing (excl. corporate communication and branding)
  • Define and develop of relevant KPIs to measure product portfolio performance
  • Define and develop KPIs to measure customer portfolio dynamics
  • Define and develop KPIs for a measurable customer experience beyond net promoter score (NPS)
  • Align KPI models and integrate and translate them into holistic management reporting
  • Integrate product and customer services to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Develop sales and customer presentations and participate in marketing events and trade fairs
  • Prepare market and customer insight reports
  • Collaborate with product development, business development, after sales and service
  • Secure compliance with TCBs high ethical, diversity and integrity standards

Job requirements

  • 15+ years of relevant work experience and proven track record in biotechnology, pharma and/or bioengineering
  • Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in cellular and molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or process engineering
  • Additional Master of Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is considered as a plus
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Business fluent English, both written and spoken. Equivalent German language skills are strongly preferred
  • Understanding and knowledge of relevant sales tools like CRM software is expected
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Independent, structured, and precise way of working, with a mentality for proactivity
  • Initiative, commitment, and organizational skillset
