Position Summary
To serve as liaison between in-service volunteers and Hospital staff, making sure volunteers are informed about Hospital policies and procedures as related to their efforts. To serve as liaison between Hospital Administration and Auxiliary. To work with staff to identify their needs and areas of support and to develop competency-based service descriptions, which will facilitate volunteer evaluations. To educate staff on proper volunteer training, enabling them to utilize volunteers for department support, and to enable volunteers to obtain personal satisfaction. To recruit appropriate volunteers to provide high quality support services for patients, visitors, staff and community. To be an integral part of the health care team and help facilitate quality improvement throughout the Hospital. To identify new opportunities to support Hilton Head Hospital (HHH) and Coastal Carolina Hospital’s (CCH) mission/vision of providing high quality, cost-effective health care in response to our community’s needs.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Public Relations, Communications, and/or Volunteer Management.
Experience
Minimum of two years’ management/supervisory experience
Experience dealing with volunteers, fund raising and community projects, minimum two years.
Teaching / Tutorial Experience Preferred.
Sales, marketing experience helpful and preferred.
Other Qualifications
Membership in Volunteer organizations and attendance at annual meetings and workshops, in order to stay abreast of new trends in volunteerism preferred
