Minimum Salary: $33,000

Work Schedule: This position must be available during the department’s core business hours with a work schedule of 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Job Location: This position is located at 301 W High Street, Jefferson City, Missouri.

Why is the work you do in this position important to Missouri?

This position serves Missourians by being their first point of contact with the Insurance Market Regulation Division. This position helps assist department staff, the insurance industry, and Missouri consumers navigate the regulatory environment.

What will you do in this position?

  • Provide administrative support to the Division Director, section managers and legal counsel within the Division.
  • Process incoming industry filings, including review of filing to ensure accurate billing information, compliance with basic filing requirements and timely distribution of work to Regulatory Auditors.
  • Answer and transfer calls as necessary.
  • Take and ensure messages are timely passed to appropriate team members.
  • Respond to general inquiry emails.
  • Receive deliveries and assist with mail.
  • Coordinate and organize internal and external meetings and conference calls.
  • Provide back up and assistance to other support staff within the division and department.
  • Perform ad-hoc administration duties such as maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings, preparing routine/ad-hoc reports and maintaining procedure manuals.

What are the qualifications for the position?

  • Working knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment.
  • Working knowledge of grammar, spelling, basic arithmetic and formatting of correspondence.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Courteous with strong customer service and communication skills.

Areas Of Qualifying Experience

  • One or more years of related office support experience and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
