Essential Job Functions
Financial Reporting Oversight – (Gather, Validate, Report):
- Manage preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and the organization’s requirements. Organization requirements may entail deep knowledge and exposure to business processes.
- Understand, monitor, and interpret actual results of financial data against budget/forecast and provide deep insights into business drivers.
- Direct and review work of the accounting staff (including, but not limited to, general ledger and bank account reconciliations, journal entries, and fixed assets).
Audit And Regulatory Filings
- Share the responsibility of coordinating the annual financial statement audits with the Controller and Accounting Operations Manager.
- Oversee the accurate and timely production and filing of regulatory reports (including, but not limited to, Form 5500, Form 990, Form 199, FBAR).
- Perform technical accounting research and facilitate the adoption of new accounting standards.
Systems And Processes Modernization
- Participate in the identifying and implementation of accounting systems or system enhancements.
- Identify opportunities for improvement of operations and performance of the department (e.g., process automation, system integrations, agility, etc.).
Other Duties
- Direct and/or assist in the performance of tasks when required.
- Recruit, onboard, and train new employees.
- Manage the performance of the accounting staff, including but not limited to, annual reviews, disciplinary conversations, and terminations.
- Assist in establishing or enhancing internal controls to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Collaborate with the Controller in setting long and short-term objectives for the unit.
- Assist in preparation of accounting department annual budget.
- Assist in the project management of various accounting initiatives.
- Perform other duties for the accounting department, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
- CPA certification (active or inactive).
- 5+ years of corporate accounting experience.
- 5+ years of management experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Oracle EBS 11/12.

- Public Accounting experience.
