Essential Job Functions

Financial Reporting Oversight – (Gather, Validate, Report):

  • Manage preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and the organization’s requirements. Organization requirements may entail deep knowledge and exposure to business processes.
  • Understand, monitor, and interpret actual results of financial data against budget/forecast and provide deep insights into business drivers.
  • Direct and review work of the accounting staff (including, but not limited to, general ledger and bank account reconciliations, journal entries, and fixed assets).

Audit And Regulatory Filings

  • Share the responsibility of coordinating the annual financial statement audits with the Controller and Accounting Operations Manager.
  • Oversee the accurate and timely production and filing of regulatory reports (including, but not limited to, Form 5500, Form 990, Form 199, FBAR).
  • Perform technical accounting research and facilitate the adoption of new accounting standards.

Systems And Processes Modernization

  • Participate in the identifying and implementation of accounting systems or system enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement of operations and performance of the department (e.g., process automation, system integrations, agility, etc.).

Other Duties

  • Direct and/or assist in the performance of tasks when required.
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new employees.
  • Manage the performance of the accounting staff, including but not limited to, annual reviews, disciplinary conversations, and terminations.
  • Assist in establishing or enhancing internal controls to ensure compliance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with the Controller in setting long and short-term objectives for the unit.
  • Assist in preparation of accounting department annual budget.
  • Assist in the project management of various accounting initiatives.
  • Perform other duties for the accounting department, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
  • CPA certification (active or inactive).
  • 5+ years of corporate accounting experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Oracle EBS 11/12.

  • Public Accounting experience.
