Based at our site in Gorton, Manchester, we manufacture frozen products for Iceland stores, this is a great opportunity for a Technical Services Supervisor to join our Technical team at an exciting time of growth within Iceland’s food manufacturing site.

We’ve had to adapt to new ways of working to ensure we are protecting our teams in the current climate, but we’re busier than ever, growing our product range and want to ensure all our support functions across site are ready to proactively contribute to the site’s growth.

Role Details

Role: Technical Services Supervisor

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Shift Pattern: Core working hours between Monday to Friday, typically, 8:00am – 4:00pm

Contract: Permanent

Job Description

Supervising of all aspects of the Technical Services framework which ensures Food Safety, Legality, Integrity and Quality to support the manufacture of one million units of frozen ready meals per week.

To assist in the coordination, management and updating of all aspects of the site Quality Management System.

To provide support to the Quality and Technical Manager to ensure departmental and site KPI’s are achieved.

Responsibilities Will Include

Establish and maintain appropriate Quality Management Systems to meet accreditation requirements (HACCP, BRC, etc)

Ensure appropriate checking procedures of ingredient quality against specification on intake and through production/packing

Managing and monitoring supplier non-conformances, customer complaints and corrective actions

Preparing for and assisting with site audits and visits

Ensuring specifications are maintained and reviewed as per procedure (Raw Materials & Packaging, Factory and Finished Product)

Support Technical Team in achieving any necessary cultural change and bringing about an environment of continual improvement

Manage and maintain all document control through the QMS system and QA documents.

Ensuring all trending of Technical data as required by management.

Create site product specifications as required and attend NPD meetings.

Mentor team members to enable them to work to the best of their abilities, PDR’s, regular 121’s

To undertake traceability audits as and when requested.

Skills & Experience

Numerical and analytical

Ability to work to deadlines

Desirable

Degree level education or equivalent in a relevant Food Manufacture or Food science related discipline, or demonstrable experience working in a management role within the Technical function of Food Manufacture or FMCG.

Demonstrable experience within the Technical/Quality Assurance function in the Food Manufacture or FMCG industry within a Management role.

Experience of retailer’s codes of practice and BRC compliance.
