The Role

The Senior Manager, Operations is a permanent role that requires strong business acumen and deep knowledge & experience in the Merchant onboarding domain for payments business – payment gateway – offline & online acceptance. The role will focus on the KYC due diligence and risk assessment associated with the client onboarding covering all aspects of business model validation and compliance. The successful candidate is required to manage,

Role And Responsibilities

  • Monthly review with relevant business heads and other senior stakeholders
  • Sharing of onboarding metrics with relevant stakeholders, forecasting volumes and implementing plan of action
  • Gather ground-level insights and work with product teams to ideate and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency & TATs
  • Suggest ways to improve customer experience based on feedback from merchants
  • Talent acquisition, retention, and career progressions – identify and groom talent, plan succession and provide inputs by means of monthly 1 : 1’s to individuals
  • Escalation Handling – Handle escalations to satisfaction, conduct RCA, implement corrective and preventive measures
  • Liaise with external law enforcement authorities, empanelled lawyers, enforcement directorate, EOW & any regulatory body to represent the organisation along with the legal team wherever necessary
  • Reduce fraud losses and provision for the same in the budget (line with industry standards)

  • Evaluate latest practices/tools to identify next-generation onboarding and onboarding risk detection system

Desired Skills And Experience

  • Proven experience in onboarding and risk management, senior governance and policy, early fraud detection, or audit role, preferably in the compliance field domain
  • 8+ years of overall experience in Merchant onboarding and Risk, preferably in the payments business
  • Driving performance metrics at Partner Location .
  • Ensuring Partner is in compliance to Razorpay Policy, Goals and SOW’S.
  • Liasoning with Internal Stakeholders of Razorpay to enable partners with necessary solutions and tools for him to perform the operation.
  • Understanding of contractual framework between Razorpay and partners and highlight incase of deviations
  • Experience in transactional fraud & surveillance domain preferable
  • Relevant experience with global card schemes (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX) would be an added advantage
  • Graduate degree (Master’s) and/or professional certifications have an advantage (CISA, CFE, CPA, etc.)
  • Strong networking, negotiation and collaboration skills, and ability to work effectively in a complex multicultural and multi-time zone organization

  • Risk Management and Control: Good working knowledge of the organization’s approach to risk management, specifically as applicable to Retail Risk Operations
  • Governance, Oversight, and Controls: Strong leadership capabilities and management skills, with the ability to deliver effective controls within Retail Operations through both directly-managed and virtual team
  • Regulatory Framework and Requirements: Awareness and understanding of the regulatory framework in which the firm operates, and the regulatory requirements and expectations relevant to the role of Head, FRM Channels & Products

Candidate’s Core Focus Areas Will Be

  • Client onboarding framework / Policy including policies and procedures designed to enable businesses to collect payments through Razorpay while mitigating risks related to fraudulent, suspicious and illicit activities, and noncompliance with Card Brand rules
  • Assess Third Party Vendors to assist in onboarding due diligence / KYC validations, AML activities, and onboarding risk management (including identification and blacklisting of high risk accounts)
  • Review and present Daily/weekly /monthly data on onboarding trends, business types, case studies and agent performance and efficiency
