Pure Strategies seeks a Sustainability Advisor to contribute to our company’s efforts to transform business to create a more sustainable future. For over 20 years, Pure Strategies has helped leading companies garner the business benefits of sustainability through improvements in strategy, operations, products, and supply chains. The Advisor will work collaboratively with Pure Strategies staff to deliver top quality consulting services. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working independently, performing analytical tasks, collaborating and communicating with others, and producing high-quality work. This consulting position has a focus on corporate climate strategy, carbon accounting, and product life cycle assessment services for clients.
This is a salaried full-time position. Compensation and exact job responsibilities will be based on education and experience. Benefits include paid time off, health care, educational reimbursement, and generous retirement contributions. This is a telecommuting role since the company employs a virtual office environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
You will be helping some of the most forward-thinking companies in the world to develop and implement ambitious sustainability tactics and targets. You will be working with a team of leading consultants, researching industry and technology trends, analyzing data, and pulling together these insights to advise corporate strategy.

Required Capabilities
• Experience in Life Cycle Assessments, product carbon footprints, and use of LCA tools and databases such as EcoInvent.
• Knowledge of climate change, greenhouse gas emissions accounting, and sustainability.
• Working knowledge of corporate carbon accounting standards and approaches (e.g., ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, and Science-Based Targets).
• Experience in developing greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories for science-based targets, companies, products, and other related GHG accounting efforts.
• Experience supporting corporate sustainability strategy, packaging assessments, and material health is a plus.
• Experience with corporate business processes including product design, manufacturing, sourcing and supply chain management, marketing, and business strategy.

Project Management and Analytical Skills
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills with an aptitude for detailed analysis and the ability to produce well-organized and presented deliverables.
• Strong aptitude for critical, qualitative, and analytical thinking.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• High competence in Excel, database, and other data analysis and visualization software.
• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint and Word.

Requirements
• Undergraduate degree in a technical field (e.g., science or engineering) or a related field.
• Graduate degree in scientific, business or related field a plus.
• At least three years of experience in a sustainability consulting or corporate sustainability role.
• Experience in one or more of these industries: agriculture, food and beverage, apparel, home and personal care, retail, or related industries.
• Commitment to an equitable and just economy

Work Environment
Pure Strategies team members both collaborate on projects and have a high degree of autonomy. The Sustainability Advisor must be able to deliver highly effective results working from a home office in a virtual team environment. Periodic travel is required for this position to client sites and our Gloucester, MA headquarters.
