The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We believe in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it’s girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges facing girls and all vulnerable children.

We support children’s rights from birth until they reach adulthood. And we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 85 years, and are now active in more than 75 countries.

The Opportunity

This role is key to ensuring that Plan International Mali continues to maximise the impact of our programmes to advance childrens rights and equality for girls. You will be responsible for identifying funding opportunities aligned to Plan International Mali’s program and influencing strategic priorities. You will lead in the development and implementation of the resource mobilisation strategy, identifying and responding to funding opportunities. Forging strong relationship between Plan International and a variety of donors and overseeing the donor cultivation cycle at country level to ensure the compliance and responsiveness of proposals will be critical.

You have proven experience developing successful proposals to private donors, trusts and foundations, high net worth individuals, corporates or institutional donors, including but not limited to EU, ECHO, USAID, OFDA, DFID, the Global Fund and the UN. You bring strong leadership, team-building and motivational skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and fluent written and spoken French and English is essential.
