In search of a skilled Payroll Specialist/Accounting Assistant to perform a variety of bookkeeping, payroll tasks and daily data entry. This position is “payroll focused”, but will also assist the company Controller. Responsibilities include, but not limited to, entering accounts payable, receivables and submitting bi-weekly payroll to our processing company. All AP and AR transactions will be processed through our accounting software, Restaurant 365. O.H.S.O. is currently utilizing Paychex for our payroll platform, but may transition into a new platform in the foreseeable future. Some knowledge of these platforms are a plus, but not mandatory.


  • Process hourly and salary employee payroll on a bi-weekly basis using Paychex
  • Audit time & attendance records for accuracy and missing data
  • Input data such as new hire information, personnel changes, direct deposits and Federal/State withholding changes on a timely basis
  • Review, analyze and verify payroll reports for accuracy prior to processing
  • Maintain confidential employee files and records in electronic and paper form
  • Assist with Accounts Payable and general accounting duties as needed
  • Maintain general office files, including vendor files and other files related to the company’s operations


  • 2+ years of payroll experience
  • Experience handling confidential information with discretion
  • Experience with Paychex is a plus, but not required


  • $22-$25/hr based on experience (25-35 hours per week) To be paid out bi-weekly.


  • Monday-Thursday 8am-4:30pm
