Who We Are Looking For

We will be filling multiple Data Analytics Manager II roles across all Squads in the Data Product & Reporting organization within Commercial Analytics.

We are looking for a Data Analytics Manager II to join the Data Products & Reporting team within the larger Commercial Analytics organization. This role will be a member of a multi-functional agile squad responsible for maximizing analytics return on investment, driving scalable data architecture, and delivering data products to enhance decision making across Nike’s Global functions. The candidate needs to be a dependable teammate and a self-motivated data evangelist. You are unconventionally curious, especially about how data can be used to optimize business opportunities. You enjoy finding relationships between disparate data sets and clarity in a muddied data environment. You are highly proficient in SQL, competent in a variety of scripting languages, well-versed in automation techniques and at home in a cloud based big data environment. You understand the value of sound data architecture and enjoy the challenge of profiling new data sets. You have a healthy degree of skepticism and the ability to speak data truth to power. You also know how to rise above the numbers and explain the essential insights to business users, and you instinctively minimize complexity to focus on results. While you rely on data to prove your point, you love to think in an unexpected way and solve problems creatively. You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, and you are excited by the challenge of building something from the ground up. You are comfortable leading in an ambiguous environment and developing repeatable frameworks to improve team efficiency. You ask good questions, are continually learning as well as finding opportunities to share knowledge with others.

What You Will Work On

  • Manage development and execution of reporting and analytics products across a focused area of the Nike business value stream to enable data driven business decisions that will drive performance and lead to the accomplishment of annual goals
  • Translate complex business problem statements into analysis requirements and work with internal customers to define data product details based on expressed partner needs
  • Document systems/analytics solutions to the business, translating complex functionality into business relevant language
  • Lead structured, end-to-end analysis to inform product strategy, data architecture and reporting decisions
  • Prototype and drive future state architecture to serve as a single source of truth for analytics use cases across Nike
  • Plan and lead development of quantitative research, casual inference, and predictive models to understand and optimize drivers of growth and performance
  • Drive the solving of complex data problems demonstrating analytical and statistical rigor
  • Develop SQL queries and data visualizations to fulfill ad-hoc analysis requests and ongoing reporting needs demonstrating standard query syntax
  • Thoroughly document data architecture solutions, business requirements, training material and business processes for both business and technical audiences
  • Develop frameworks for repeatable validation of data integrity within data products supporting accurate and consistent reporting and analytics
  • Serve as domain specialist on data and business process within area of focus
  • Drive adoption of and socialize the data products with end users through user training
  • Support standard methodologies in reporting and analysis: data integrity, unit testing, data quality control, system integration testing, modeling, validation, and documentation
  • Monitor and solve operational or data issues in the data pipelines
