Business Development Rep

  • Want to break into the Fintech/SAAS software sales environment? Join our growing sales team as a Business Development Rep and gain key initial skills and experience in a sales support role. The BDR role directly supports our sales team–working closely with established sales reps to drive sales results. In addition to gaining valuable insights and training, youll benefit directly from the teams sales performance. When the team wins, you win!

A key part of this role is being able to communicate effective and professionally on the phone and via email as you generate leads and introduce Nasdaq Asset Owners value proposition to new targets before a sales rep is brought into the mix.

As you will often be the front-line of interaction a prospective client will have with Nasdaq, business acumen, warmth, and professionalism are all musts! While a background in sales or finance/investment management are preferred and will certainly shorten the learning curve, they are not required.

Job Description

  • Assign new leads to sales reps
  • Work closely with Sales Team Director weekly
  • Shadow sales reps on calls and presentations
  • Qualify leads from marketing campaigns as sales opportunities
  • Contact potential clients through cold calls and emails
  • Present our company to potential clients
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • Build long-term trusting relationships with clients
  • Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients andSales Reps
  • Report to theBusiness Development Manageron (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results
  • Stay up-to-date with new products/services and new pricing/payment plans
  • Diligently assist sales reps with administrative tasks and salesforce hygiene
  • Be collaborative and ready to tackle new challenges each day
  • Challenge the status quo when you see opportunities for team improvement


  • Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative,Sales Account Executiveor similar role
  • Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calls)
  • Track record of achieving sales quotas
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Familiarity with MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to deliver engaging presentations
  • BSc degree in Finance/Business Administration or relevant field
