Job Description:
NASA is seeking a highly qualified media relations specialist to disseminate information through traditional and non-traditional media outlets to pertinent publics about the work of NASA in the most vast, feasible, and fitting way, as directed by center and agency communications leadership.
Job Requirements:
- You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.
Qualification & Experience:
- To qualify for GS-11, you must have: a) One year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level: Working as a specialist in media relations for an organization; Interacting with traditional and digital journalists of all levels developing thoughtful responses using crafted messaging; Assisting in the planning and coordinating of media campaigns to communicate specific topics or items of news; Assisting in the development of communication products intended to convey story opportunities to media, such as; news releases, media advisories, pitches, video packages, press kits, etc.; Pitching various products to both traditional and digital media outlets; Producing, writing, and developing digital media content including social media posts, web and blog content, and video scripts and/or social media channels and digital management software. OR b) Completed all requirements for a doctoral degree (i.e., Ph.D. or equivalent) in an appropriate field
