Department Profile
Operations is one of the largest divisions in the firm and has diverse responsibilities, including correctly settling and recording millions of transactions per day, identifying and mitigating all operational risks, developing strong client relationships and partnering with technology to realize the full potential of IT and e-solutions.
Morgan Stanley Operations Risk & Regulatory Control (ORRC) partners across Global Operations and the Firm to identify and mitigate risk; understand and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements; and support the Firm’s financial and operational well-being. The ORRC team structure is made up of Global Operations Resilience, Global Control Operations, Disclosure of Interest, Regulatory Operations (Asia, EMEA, NA), ORRC Change the Bank, ORRC Risk Management and ORRC Chief Administration Office.
This Associate will report into the Resilience Program ED / VP Lead and will support execution of the Operations Resilience strategy to meet current and future resilience requirements in partnership with Fusion/Firm Resilience, ORRC, ORD, TOR, Operations and Technology leadership.
Specifically, They Will Be Supporting The Following Initiatives
- Internal & external-driven Operations Resilience deliverables
- Third Party Tracking of FMI, Technology and Service Providers (ex: CCPs, Agent Banks, Exchanges)
- Creation of Governance-related materials and updates
- Deliver department goals against a clearly defined work plan
- Support implementation of resilience policy changes
- Transference effectiveness enhancements
- Metrics Reporting and Score Carding
- Lessons Learned business case development and management
- Tracking other Morgan Stanley Resilience efforts
- Support policy change management
- Support 2022 Planning efforts
Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree or more
- 5+ years of financial industry experience
- Ability to work independently and with a team on assignments, while multi-tasking and meeting deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communications skills, executive presence, and an innovative mindset
- Experience navigating complex organizations and recognizing/escalating divergent priorities
- Operations experience a plus, transformation program management experience a must
Role is Hybrid and will require in office attendance 3 days/week.
This role requires that all successful applicants be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment and provide proof of such vaccinations within 3 days of commencement of employment.
