Grow with us and join our Logistics team as a Logistics Specialist, who will actively take part in ensuring operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality of service so our customers receive the best ingredients and have a delightful cooking experience! The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating between short term business critical needs and longer term continuous improvement projects and can rapidly develop a strong understanding of the business and use their technical expertise to ensure efficiency and scalability of our logistics. In this role you will drive implementation of corrective actions to guarantee service levels, monitor billing and costs, and be responsible for optimal performance of the distribution network, as well as its carriers.

What you’ll do:

• Execute inbound and outbound freight transport planning
• Manage existing partnerships and build relationships with new line haul partners
• Plan and coordinate shipping schedules with internal and external stakeholders
• Actively collect and contribute data to Logistics KPI’s and Carrier Scorecards
• Coordinate with teams to perform regular reviews of each parcel carrier against their SLAs and performance indicators, holding each carrier responsible for delivering the best possible delivery experience for customers with the highest level of consistency and tracking visibility across carriers
• Audit and process invoices before approval from Finance
• Work closely with Digital team to implement new technologies
• Ensure carrier service level targets are met through granular assessment of OTD performance and routine collaboration with shipping partners to identify root cause and define counteraction plans
• Routine cross-functional collaboration to ensure customer delivery experience standards are met with compliance
• Share forecast shipping volumes and internally communicate carrier capacity changes
• Carrier cost maintenance for invoice approval and financial reconciliation purposes. Logistics Specialist is responsible for all carrier invoice approvals
• Manage claims and credit process, ensuring carrier accountability
• Maintaining team documents and updating SOPs
• Support in the execution of continuous improvement plans and projects
• Assist the Senior management team in optimizing the Marley Spoon US logistics network
• Incident management
• Assist in administrative tasks

Who you are:

• College/university degree with focus on Engineering, Business, Operations or Supply Chain Management preferred
• 2+ years of experience in logistics,preferably in the food/beverage/perishable industry with general knowledge of logistics, supply chain management, warehousing and transportation
• Previous experience with cost reduction initiatives and eliminating quality issues
• Experience developing partnerships with third party service providers
• High proficiency in MS Excel and G-Suite
• Effective communication and coordinating skills
• Highly self-motivated with strong accountability, consistency and follow-through skills
• Able to work independently and use critical thinking to solve problems and find solutions as needed
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
• Ability to analyze and strategically react to information from large datasets
