¿WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR?

We are seeking a Geo Mechanical Specialist to join the Advanced Technical Services Division of EXPEC ADVANCED RESEARCH CENTER.

The Rock Mechanic’s Group conduct rock mechanical studies on various formation to obtain critical data. These data will be used by fractures simulation program to design the fracturing treatment and to understand the parameters that maximize the life of proppant in propped hydraulic fracturing applications. Also, these data will resolve the outstanding technical issues of the current wellbore stability problems in shale and bring new insight that can improve the execution of drilling operation and maximizing gas/oil production which will result into tremendous savings.

¿WHAT IS YOUR CHALLENGE?

The Geo Mechanical Specialist must be able to initiate and lead technical services and apply research that primarily utilize geochemical tools to resolve issues of operational and intermediate to long-term strategic significance. In addition, should assist with planning and managing geomechanics capabilities and resources to support the operations goals with Saudi Aramco.

Requirements

As a successful candidate, you

Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. A Master’s degree in the area of Geo Mechanics in recommended.

Have a minimum of 15 years of experience in Rock Mechanics with emphasis in Petroleum Engineering applications.

Are familiar with rock mechanical testing and equipment and able to conduct thorough data analysis.

Are proficient in 1D through 4D mechanical earth modeling, pore pressure prediction, wellbore stability analysis, and coupled reservoir simulation for production optimization.

Must be Excellent in research; supported by completed publications, invited presentations, patents, professional awards and honors, and professional society activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Conduct rock mechanical studies (Sand control prediction, Well bore stability).

Develop experimental workflow for unconventional formations.

Provide new experimental methods for rock characterization, unconventional reservoirs, anisotropy characterization, wellbore stability analysis, hydraulic fracture design, core-log Integration.

Communicate clients with recommendations for safe drilling and completion for wells.

  • Interviews stage

2.1 LHR Americas preliminary phone/video interview: A member of the Talent Acquisition team from LHR Americas will first schedule a call with you to discuss the details of the position, your interests, and qualifications. Furthermore, your English level will be evaluated at this stage, ONLY native or advanced speakers will approve this evaluation.

If this preliminary phone/video interview is successful your resume will be submitted to our client.

If your preliminary phone/video interview is not successful our Talent Acquisition consultant will inform you.

2.2 Client phone/video interview: This interview will happen only if your resume is approved by our client, we cannot guarantee the time our Client will take to approve your resume, but it should take less than a week.

If your resume is approved a member of the Talent Acquisition Team from our client will schedule a call with you to evaluate your qualifications.

The client interview contains technical questions that help assess your familiarity with problem-solving in your given field and may include a behavioral evaluation. Be prepared to explain how you approach problems and produce solutions.

2.3 Video interviews with hiring managers: which may also contain technical questions that help us assess your familiarity with problem-solving in your given field.

  • Conditional Offer

A successful interview may result in a conditional offer of employment.

Conditions for employment include but are not limited to: medical examinations, and permission to secure a visa to work and reside in-country.
