SALARY

The minimum salary is $49,443.68 annually

This position is exempt and is not eligible for overtime; however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of forty hours.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this position is to provide therapeutic interventions, treatment services, mental health assessments, and complex case management services to court-involved and/or at-risk youth at the Audrey Grevious Center.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in Social Work; and, a minimum of two years of experience in social work
  • Valid Clinical Social Work License (LCSW) from the Kentucky Board of Social Work in accordance with KRS 335.100
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • First Aid and CPR Certifications must be obtained within first six months of employment and maintained as a condition of continued employment
  • Safe Crisis Management must be obtained within first six months of employment and maintained as a condition of continued employment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provides individual and group clinical treatment services to court-involved and/or at-risk youth
  • Provides advanced individual and group therapy using modalities such as cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviews, and psycho-educational and evidence-based interventions
  • Conducts complex client assessments in order to develop individual treatment plans with goals and objectives
  • Performs crisis intervention and advanced risk assessments such as risk of suicidal and homicidal thoughts, plans, and behaviors as needed
  • Develops and maintains accurate and timely records for all clients including, but not limited to treatment plans, weekly progress reports, and database (CMIS) records
  • Coordinates treatment team meetings with youth, his/her family, and other community service providers to communicate clinical issues, progresses, and recommendations
  • Plans and/or attends trainings, meetings, conferences, and seminars
  • Transports and escorts clients to essential appointments and provides assistance to families as needed
  • May act as Clinical Services Manager in his/her absence
  • Performs related work as assigned

SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

  • Master’s degree in Social Work; and, a minimum of two (2) years of experience in social work
  • Valid Clinical Social Work License (LCSW) from the Kentucky Board of Social Work in accordance with KRS 335.100
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • First Aid and CPR Certifications must be obtained within first six months of employment and maintained as a condition of continued employment
  • Safe Crisis Management must be obtained within first six months of employment and maintained as a condition of continued employment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to operate Urban County Government equipment and vehicles in a safe, prudent and responsible manner.
  • All positions require drug testing before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
  • Individuals recommended for employment will be required to submit to a background check and drug screening. In addition, the Divisions of Family Services and Youth Services will require individuals recommended for employment to submit to a Child Abuse/Neglect (CAN) Registry check. Individuals should be of sobriety and integrity, orderly and law abiding citizens and inasmuch as some employees will be working with minors, those individuals who have offenses or incidents with minors will not be considered for employment.
  • Pursuant to the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988 and to sections 21-52, 22-34 and 23-50 of the Code of Ordinances, all employees must remain drug and alcohol free when reporting to work, while at work and while engaged in any work related activities.
  • Based on Federal Regulations 19-10 this position may be eligible for and offered the hepatitis vaccinations. In addition, employees will be required to sign a statement stating they have accepted or declined the hepatitis vaccination.
