Reporting to the AP & Treasury Controller, this role is responsible for the accounts payable processes and related communications with business partners and employees.

  • To make timely and accurate payments to business partners and reimbursements to employees.
  • Supervise 3-way matching (3WM) to ensure that all invoices are matched to their related purchase order and receiving document or service order and approved invoice. Ensure that other source data supporting the payments are adequate.
  • Timely financial posting of the AP documents processed by the AP Technicians; 3WM and standard voucher entries.
  • Ensure that the correct tax area is used on all invoices and that the correct treatment of tax is applied to the AP entries (VAT, Customs Duty, Withholding Tax, etc.)
  • Responsible for liaison with Tax for invoicing issues, including rejecting invoices that don’t meet proper invoice format (addresses, NIE numbers, withholding tax, etc.).
  • Monitor and maintain good relations with business partners that have been established by the AP Technicians.
  • Prepare billing statement reconciliations for key business partners to ensure validity and completeness of payments.
  • Initiate effective collaboration with Supply Chain and business partners to resolve price mismatch issues between the Kinross price catalogue and the business partner invoices.
  • Respond effectively to requests from departments for payment status of invoices.
  • Understand and raise awareness of the company’s Delegation of Authority and approval routing levels as well as applying it in practice to approvals of transactions.
  • Manage workflow of non-compliant invoices, including rejection of invoices, sending purchase orders for rework, requesting additional data from business partners or internal departments.
  • Investigate historical payments by interrogation of the AP system.
  • Ensures records are up to date, in the required format, accurate and produced on time.
  • Supervise invoice archiving on a timely basis.
  • Review of AP aging reports and investigation of reasons for aged items.
  • Run the AP integrity report at month end. Investigate and clear reconciling items to the GL.
  • Ad hoc reporting as required.

Études expérience et aptitudes

  • Qualifications
  • Degree from an authorized institution in finance, business administration, accounting, economics or other closely related courses.
  • Functional job skills
  • Experience of accounts payable modules in ERP accounting packages, preferably JDE.
  • Experience in the use of data entry programs.
  • Good IT skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience of working in a multi-currency environment.
  • Experience of French based taxation regulations.
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior staff.
  • Ability to learn quickly and act on new information.
  • Conversant with internal control procedures and concepts.
  • Leadership skills
  • Experience of supervising and mentoring junior staff.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of people at various levels, internally and externally.
