The Coated Products Operations consists of three manufacturing plants, four Slitting and Distribution Centers, and a majority interest partnership in Mexico. The CPO manufactures pressure sensitive label stock, utilizing a variety of face stock, adhesive and release liner combinations. Product capabilities include an expanded film line, as well as traditional paper, foil and thermal offerings. The Coated Products facility in Green Bay completed a major expansion, making this plant a state-of-the-art facility.

Job Details
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain, the Purchasing Manager responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, risk mitigation, negotiating contracts, maintaining positive relationships with suppliers, coordinating with internal teams regarding their supply needs, and overseeing the purchasing team in their daily activities. Position will also continue to further develop, maintain, and utilize systems for reporting, monitoring, and analytical problem solving.
Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze trends in material consumption availability and inventory levels and make recommendations for changes in supplier inventory stocking levels, internal safety stocks and lead times
Monitor and analyze costs, identify opportunities, and lead the implementation of cost reduction initiatives
Meet with suppliers to evaluate new offerings, ensure competitiveness, and strengthen relationships
Negotiate and implement purchase agreements for key supplies and services suppliers
Maintain a high level of expertise in QAD procurement and procurement related software
Facilitate negotiations and RFP process for capital projects >$100k
Risk Mitigation-maintain market intelligence and respond to potential market opportunities and risks
Issue, maintain, and update all price sheets for raw materials
Develop and maintain raw material stocking agreements
Work cross functionally to identify risk, cost savings opportunities and alternate suppliers to support growth
Manage and mentor Purchasing team
Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
Strong price/contract negotiating skills
Develop alternate supply sources for risk mitigation and cost reduction opportunities
Knowledge of general practices, procedures, and methods of purchasing and supply chain management
Proven customer service orientation
Material, supply and service contracting experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in implementing and maintaining automated purchasing software
Strong ethical principles and standards
Prior pressure sensitive label, paper or manufacturing experience is desirable
Skills And Abilities Emphasis
Proficient Word, Excel, and ERP procurement systems, BI Systems a plus
Excellent communication skills
Proven success in negotiations
Flexible and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical skills
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field
MBA preferred
ISM or APICS certification is a plus
