Cloud Engineering Training Team, Solutions Engineer

You will work alongside top engineers and technical thought leaders to solve difficult problems in innovative ways, supporting our country’s most vital missions.
Work you’ll do:
Work with clients to understand and solve their most pressing business and technical challenges while leading a diverse talent group in support of Federal and State Government agencies. Develop trusted advisor relationships with clients’ technology leaders and help guide clients’ Cloud vision. Create new opportunities to showcase Cloud technologies and capabilities for our clients. Help lead our Cloud practice, develop our future Cloud leaders, and expand the Deloitte Cloud brand throughout the public sector marketplace.

Our Cloud Engineering team focuses on enabling our clients’ end-to-end journey from On-Premise to Cloud, with opportunities in the areas of: Cloud Strategy, Op Model Transformation, Cloud Development, Cloud Integration & APIs, Cloud Migration, Cloud Infrastructure & Engineering, and Cloud Managed Services. We help our clients see the transformational capabilities of Cloud as an opportunity for business enablement and competitive advantage.
Cloud Engineering supports our clients by improving agility and resilience, while identifying opportunities to reduce IT operations spend through automation. We advance our clients toward a technology-driven future, leveraging vendor solutions and Deloitte-developed software products, tools, and accelerators, to achieve their vision.
Responsibilities:
- As a consultant/engineer, you’ll work with our clients to shape their path to Cloud with empowered teams and adaptive mindsets.
- As part of a product team, you’ll implement leading cloud native software delivery practices with lean thinking, being agile, and automate with DevSecOps.
- You’ll create value through software products with our public sector clients that span Health, Education, Citizen Services and Defense missions.
As a Cloud Full Stack Engineer, you will:
- You will take part in the entire cycle of full stack cloud software consulting and engineering from ideation, cloud/software architecture to deployment
- You will act as a mentor for less-experienced peers through both your technical knowledge and paired-development skills
- You will design and engineer containerized, microservices solutions, refactoring traditional software applications and creating new greenfield apps, choosing technologies that solve clients’ problems
- You will use lean, agile, DevSecOps practices to deliver software with speed, security and stability
- Work in a highly-collaborative, diverse, product-focused teams to build innovative customer experiences
- Utilize the latest technology thinking and products from our Tech Trends industry insights
- Apply a variety of languages, cloud, and open source tools to your work
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably Science, Technology, Engineering and Math major
- 3+ years as a full stack developer designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining large scale applications
- Java, Python, JavaScript, IDEs, AWS SDKs, AWS Services (CloudFormation, Terraform, Lambda, EC2, S3, etc.), Azure SDKs, Azure services (Logic Apps, Azure Functions, ARM templates, etc.), Java ORM frameworks and tools (Spring, Hibernate), RDBMSs (MySQL), NoSQL databases (Cassandra, Mongo)
- Experience in communicating and collaborating with senior technical experts within the Cloud, open source industry
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Ability to obtain a US Government Security clearance, if needed.
