The Feature Lead/Software Engineer will work as a data specialist and will work with the development team to design, optimize, and oversee the conceptual and logical data models for critical client profile and related case management data. Your duties will also include working with business domain experts in finalizing domain models and attributes, monitoring compliance with changes made in systems of record, and overseeing data conversions and migrations. The data specialist will also work with application support teams to ensure data issues raised by consumers are fully investigated to determine root case and are resolved in production.

To succeed in this role, you should know how to examine new data system requirements and implement migration models. The ideal candidate will also have proven experience in data analysis and management, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve sensitive client profile and related case management data.
  • Examine and identify database design requirements necessities by working with business domain experts
  • Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations.
  • Prepare accurate database design and architecture reports for management and executive teams.
  • Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions.
  • Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features.
  • Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems.
  • Educate staff members through training and individual support.
  • Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.

Qualifications

Minimum 10 years of experience with the following:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.
  • Strong SQL skills with experience working on relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server or equivalent)
  • Experience using DB tools like Toad Data Point, Toad Data Modeler etc.
  • Knowledge of Global Banking and Markets client data management requirements
  • Experience working in Agile teams and good understanding of software development lifecycle
  • Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Outstanding problem solver.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge, or 1-2 years of experience with the following will be a plus:

  • Development tools – Visual Studio, Eclipse
  • Business Intelligence Tools – Tableau, Cognos or similar tools
  • Programming experience – Python, Java or similar languages
  • Workflow concepts – BPM, Pega, or equivalent

LOB General:

Responsible for designing and developing complex requirements to accomplish business goals. Ensures that software is developed to meet functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements. Ensures solutions are well designed with maintainability/ease of integration and testing built-in from the outset. Possess strong proficiency in development and testing practices common to the industry, and have extensive experience of using design and architectural patterns. At this level, specializations start to form in either Architecture, Test Engineering or DevOp. Contributes to story refinement/defining requirements. Participates and guides team in estimating work necessary to realize a storyequirement through the delivery lifecycle. Performs spike/proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risk or implement new ideas. Codes solutions and unit tests to deliver a requirement/story per the defined acceptance criteria and compliance requirements. Utilizes multiple architectural components (across data, application, business) in design and development of client requirements. Assists team with resolving technical complexities involved in realizing story work. Designs/develops/modifies architecture components, application interfaces, and solution enablers while ensuring principal architecture integrity is maintained. Designs/develops/maintains automated test suites (integration, regression, performance). Sets up and develops a continuous integration/continuous delivery pipeline. Automates manual release activities. Mentors other Software Engineers and coaches team on CI-CD practices and automating tool stack. Individual contributor.
