Job Summary

DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a self-motivated, creative, and customer-obsessed communications professional to join the Echo and Alexa PR team. As a PR Specialist, you will work with leaders across the business to imagine, develop and execute proactive communications programs, including go-to-market strategies and innovation storytelling.

You will have experience in product or services PR and be expected to think and act tactically. You will be able to work fast, manage multiple business stakeholders, look around corners and identify challenges, take ownership of go-to-market strategy for product and feature launches, support communications colleagues around the world, and work to successfully launch and promote Alexa products and features to customers.

Key job responsibilities

  • Act as PR business partner to the Echo and Alexa leadership teams
  • Collaborate with internal teams to drive successful product and feature launches, and go-to-market strategies
  • Develop, build and maintain strong relationships with media
  • Create press releases, pitches and other content to secure media including print, broadcast and online outlets
  • Successfully manage complex, fast-moving and unexpected communications challenges

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3+ years of public relations experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing media relationships
  • Experience coordinating joint PR initiatives with outside companies and vendors
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, including the ability to work independently and autonomously
  • Attention to detail and bias for action, as well as an understanding of technology, and ability to communicate complex topics effectively
