INTERFACES: The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:

PURPOSE AND MISSION OF THE JOB:

The Head of Supply Chain Operations is responsible for the quality and efficiency of the Supply Chain operations for the global activities of the factory and ensures accountability throughout the supply chain. This position requires significant experience in procurement, logistics operations and information system (G.S.I.). The position also requires teaching qualities, management proficiency, superior organizational expertise, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work under pressure and manage time efficiently.

NETWORK & LINKS:

  • The link to Country Supply Chain team (Cluster / Gibela / Ubunye) is strong, due to the expertise on métier & IS tool.
  • The link with the logistics team is permanent, for capturing defects, contain them & escalade if necessary.
  • The link with the other KUs is important ensuring the consistence of processes and tool within the site (Co localization) according to rules given by Central Supply Chain Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

PEOPLE:

  • Leads the knowledge of the process by managing the skill matrix dedicated to the warehouse, procurement and SCL employee.
  • Is in charge to apply Logistics and Procurement training supports.
  • Train new employees (manager level).

SOLUTION:

  • Ensures the final users are using correctly GSI.
  • Set up the necessary tools to drive the activity
  • Ensures data quality of the several systems (GSI, qlicksence)
  • Leads the stop of ASCOT usage

PROCESSES:

  • Ensures the basics and the golden rules of each métier are set up
  • Pursues improvements and alignments between Procurement, Sourcing and Quality
  • Ensures action plans are set up to reduce missing parts and air freight
  • Responsible for accurate data in GSI
  • Supports the Head of Supply Chain in the implementation of the Supply Chain strategy and objectives to provide quality and timely service
  • Lead cross function action with other department to follow the process respect (Quality, PME, Sourcing)

INDICATORS:

  • Animates the indicators (effectiveness metrics & PKI).
  • Drives detailed reports on missing parts, GRN, inventory operations, stock levels, adjustments, TO, COGI.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • University Degree in Technical/Manufacturing Engineering
  • Masters in Supply Chain Management is advantageous.

EXPERIENCE :

  • At least 5 to 10 years’ experience in industrial production or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in Profit & Loss and cost control of assets
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge
  • ERP Management experience (SAP)
  • Good knowledge of railway business
