Job Description:

This Director will be required to lead or support data specialists with professional knowledge and skills unique to each dataset such as Environment, Operational Safety, Quality, Occupational Health and Safety, Emergency Response Management and Security as well as any other identified datasets developed within the Branch.

Job Responsibilities:

  • This includes responsibility for the design, implementation, and delivery of all Corporate Safety data presentations, including the development of all required Corporate Safety Board materials, and will maintain control of the presentation change process.

Job Requirements:

  • Excellent analytical, decision making and project management skills with the ability to multitask effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Must have superior knowledge of MS Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and statistical software.
  • Must have IT program language training, programming skills and experience with Artificial Intelligence and/or Machine Learning environments. Proficiency with advanced data and statistical skills.
  • Demonstrated results in the application of statistical methods.
  • Must be able to demonstrate creativity in data visualization and presentation.
  • Demonstrated group facilitation, coaching, consulting, team building and conflict management experience.
  • Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Expert conflict management/resolution skills in both a unionized and a non-unionized environment.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Strong exposure to an operational Airline Safety Environment, proven experience working with Safety data and an in-depth knowledge of safety activities and practices.
  • Strong understanding of Flight Data Analysis and experience in leading or managing work within an FDA Environment.
  • Previous experience in handling labour issues is considered an asset.
  • Experience in airport and airline (CAR705) operations is considered an asset.
  • Experience with process diagnosis and process excellence.
  • University degree in a related discipline. Must have a certification, accreditation or similar qualifications in continuous improvement and SMS by an accredited organization (IATA, TC, etc.).
  • Experience with selection and implementation of measurements, measurement methodology, enable measurement standardization and a measurement repository.
