• Description:* As a member of Scientific & Regulatory Affairs (SRA), the incumbent is responsible for leading regulatory risk assessment and mitigation of global innovation projects related to packaging. Accurate and complete packaging information is the foundation for regulatory compliance of the finished product. This position proactively partners with innovation stakeholders and Regional SRA experts to identify potential regulatory risks and works to bring solutions to the table to enable innovation while ensuring compliance. Success in this role will require stakeholder management and collaboration at a global and regional level, both within the SRA function and cross-functionally.

The incumbent will work closely with other global and regional SRA associates to evaluate performance against the metrics and drive continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

• Serves as a point of contact for global agile innovation business stakeholders (e.g. R&D, Marketing) for new packaging materials
• Assist with the compliance of packaging material for food products.
• Evaluate and risk assess food contact materials against global regulatory compliance.
• Engage with a network of packaging suppliers to gather screeners and regulatory documentation.
• Assess the chemical makeup of the packaging.
• Review analytical testing to ensure compliant food packaging.
• Knowledgeable in GMP requirements and relevant local legislations related to food packaging.
• Familiar with the components and manufacturing processes of flexible, rigid, and paperboard packaging.
• Review sustainability claims on new packaging materials, in collaboration with legal team.
• Provides scientific and regulatory advice on route to market for new innovations, working with external experts where needed for new categories or channels
• Communicates project highlights and key regulatory issues with SRA community for broader team visibility, understanding and learning.
