  • Provides a lot of the necessary nutrition, ingredient and data support for product development, innovation and corporate initiatives. The administrative role for the Food Claims Review Council is a critical component of our claims management and substantiation process for all claims assessments and substantiation across our portfolio. Will also support the development of new nutrition communication tools to advance the go to market strategy for Better for You Confections.
  • Main Duties:* *
  • The successful candidate for this position will have a strong interest in nutrition, ingredients, and nutrition communication. This individual will use basic nutrition and/or food science skills to assist with the assessment of ingredients and claims for new product innovation and claims support. This will include the collection and organization of ingredient and nutrition information; management and analysis of this data and information and assistance with the organization and collection of ingredient and nutrition information for cross-functional claims reviews.

The individual will provide the administrative support for the Food Claims Review Council. This will include scheduling meetings, ensuring all key stakeholders are present and working with the Nutrition & Regulatory team to ensure that all information is ready and prepared for each weekly meeting. This will require a basic knowledge of claims, ingredients and regulations.

The individual will also provide support for the development of nutrition communication material to advance the go to market strategy for the Better for You Confectionary Business Unit. This will include the collection of nutrition, ingredient and claim information for Hershey and Competitive Products and the basic development of Powerpoint presentations and other communication pieces for retailers and consumers.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition Scientist, Food Science, or related field
  • Basic Knowledge in Nutrition, Food Science and Regulations
  • Adept at assessing and communicating scientific publications, government documents and nutrition and ingredient information to non-scientific audiences
  • Highly responsible and motivated individual
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently in a flexible work environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several different projects at a time
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
