• Description:* The Charlotte, NC Chiller Production facility is looking for an experienced Material Planner to join their Materials team. This Material Planner is responsible for inbound material planning in support of production for the facility. GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
• Responsible for inbound material planning in support of production for the Charlotte, NC Chiller Production facility.
• Implement lean logistics methods for inbound deliveries including Kanban, Just in Time, and Just in Sequence
• Update and manage MRP planning parameters to enable computer automated ordering
• Interface directly with suppliers to manage supply chain process from order entry to receipt of product at the plant, including resolution of late deliveries and escalation where required.
• Work to reduce on hand inventory dollars and increase turns in support of team goals.
• Demonstrate the ability to consistently deliver products and services to meet customer needs.
• Demonstrate the ability to balance the needs of the organization and the needs of the customer.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS/ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Support day to day execution of all purchasing/planning activities
• Troubleshoot process failure modes and implement corrective actions
• Utilize ACE/lean principles to effectively drive continuous improvement
• Actively participate in S&OP process
• Interface with Operations, Purchasing and Engineering teams as required to achieved key department and plant metrics
• Provide prompt/immediate response to production and materials regarding parts availability
• Directly responsible for the tracking and resolving past due material releases and production shortages
• Other material planning duties as required
• Check on purchase orders in the ERP system as directed by the Buyer
• Prepare reports and charts utilizing MS Excel and Data Management systems
• Monitor reports for missing purchasing information such as missing purchase orders and execute required activities to address gaps
• Identify, research and resolve payment disputes with vendors related to pricing issues and coordinate vendor payment disputes with material buyers for goods receiving related issues
• Support the buyer with coordination of engineering changes, coordinating the exchange of information between engineering, materials, purchasing and suppliers
• General office administration (document management, ordering office supplies, organizing meetings, preparing presentations, recording meeting minutes, managing internal and external communications and general coordination of performance between buyers, suppliers and other Carrier departments)

• Additional Skills & Qualifications:* QUALIFICATIONS:
• Demonstrate the ability to balance the needs of the organization and the needs of the customer.

• 5 years’ experience in a materials planning environment or related field in manufacturing.
• Bachelors Degree in Business or related degree EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong inventory control processes to include receiving, material movement and logistics, put away practices, cycle count process, and standard warehousing practices.
• Proficient in CHESS / SAP MRP systems (or similar)
• Knowledge of basic ECR/ECN practices.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to all levels of the organization
• Experience Level:* Intermediate Level
